"The Importance of Economic, Social and Cultural Rights" is a conference co-organized by the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of Europe and the Portuguese National Human Rights Committee, and will take place on May 3rd at 10:00-11:30 (Lisbon Time). The conference will be streamed via Zoom, broadcasted in English, with translation into Portuguese.

This initiative comes in the form of a dialogue and exchange between representatives of government areas, the academic community  the civil society in the European Union to discuss ideas, measures and proposals to ensure an effective and fair recovery, taking into account the need to guarantee the full realization of human rights, thus fitting fully into the structuring priorities of the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union, both in the human rights and in the social dimension.

This seminar will be the first contribution to the discussions on the human dimension that will take place at the Porto Social Summit (7 May).
